Reflecting on my blogs overall ( semester 1-2)

Early in the year, I learned the importance of really having a good camera angle throughtout you film. You can see that in the first film i made (Aug 25) with interviewing fellow student Jessica Hernandez I wasn't really capturing her it seemed to be be as if I was focusing onn the background as well. On my second project I really got the chance to actual edit clips so they can be at their very best and look as natual as possible, as if it only took once to present the interview. belive it or not, but i never knew that EXTERME editing was a major role in filming videos! A scence that shows my group and I really accomplished a lot was "The Result" when we used a lot of technics we learned in this class such as over the shoulder shot. This allowed the viewer to see the person that is talking while seeing the other present persons shioulder allowing you to see the conversation betwwen the two actors. I also learned that music is a VERY important role in making film, the music you choose can really effect the mood of the whole whole foootage itself ! An example of the would be when in the film "The result" I learned that music is important in the scence where i enter the teachers classroonm to grab the test document to cheat, we used dramatic music which really nailed the moment. If we were to put happy music it would really change the whole entire scence! One project that I feel I really learned a lot from would for sure be from the video on cyberbullying!!!!! COMMUNICATION is the most important thing to know in this class when working with groups! Each indivual from that group has successfully made a great progress since then! Effects are also a fun a cool thing to work with which really make things pop out its a nice abstarct thing to experience in this class it somewhat expresses youre inner feelings towards something!

First Flight

Reflection for "The Water is Wide" music video assignment: What we were trying to aim for was a little bird named Marley trying to find his way to fly in a way find himself throughout the journey. When this bird flew he undergoes several obstacles, within this journey facing terror with other villains around nature. This reflects the animal nature where everyone and everything is trying to fight to survive in this world. Towars the end of marley's journey he reaches peace within his fundamental environment which happens to be his nest. Regardless of human or animal, we humans can relate 100% with these wonderful extraordinary creatures, this object is what we love and can't seem to be away from and that is home.Where I felt Ryan and I did a good job (my favourite) was towards 1:16-1:27+1:51-2:06 the way the bird slowy and gracefullly moves within the wind showing his essence of truly being. The way the image goes turning into three duiffrent shades really brought this to the table, it really went well with the song in that particular moment. Marley was taking a ride ride in his journey, enjoying it in his FIRST FLIGHT. The choice of images we used I felt really represented the bird in his journey, really capturing his first journey in this tough yet beautiful world we all know. The colours, shapes, and absteracts used for this video were so pretty.... Especially 0:06-0:10+2:27+2:34-2:45 were just really cool for the feeling and mood I recieved throught it all. The feeling of new life. I would say our film consits of on and off abstract images... We used abstract effect although we wanted to let the viewer be able to grasp what the actual image was to provoke the message and assignment. I learned a lot using different effects for this project, it was a awesome experience to be a part of. It was like involving artful images to actual footage. It was really important to flow the mood and moment using the song to display the images in the video. What I noticed if we were't to folow the flow we got from the song, this video would be not as great... Ryan was totally awesome to work with in this project, he really was hands on and very approachable to new ideas. I don't think I could have asked for more from him I really learned some new things that I wouls totally use outside of class. SO THANK YOU! The contribhution I made for this was actuallly using the effects with Ryan we both used the effects we found to be best for the moodmoment we wanted to actually create not only a great visualization, but a great storyline for the music video, usingh certain images. A quote that would really fit the storyline to this music video that i like is: "Not all who wander are lost"

Extra Credit ( Ryan O and I)

In order to use the effect we used , you have to use threshold(stylize) and wave wrap (disort). You go to the effect panel chaning the wave type, height, width, and direction. With also chaning the degree. If you wanted to use this in a film, you could use it for a mysterious part , I see it a more if you wanted a somwhat cool visual.

Animation p2

In this shot we used twirl and threshold. We animated it by toning the color and we also re-distorted  the chracters face. Overall this was a pretty simple process to complete!

Effects/Reflection

The first effect we used was the twirl effect, amd in order to get that we had to go to the effects box in Premiere Pro and click on twirl. We adjusted how the twirl would look. Then we used the wave warp effect. Vanessa and I changed the saturation setting and the speed of the waves. We aslo changed the shape of the wave.

These effects could be used in a move to distort faces and make them kind of look like monsters, which has similarities to the effects in spy kids.
